Library Rules and Regulations

Welcome to our university library! To ensure a conducive and respectful environment for all library users, we kindly request that you adhere to the following rules and regulations, Failure to comply with these rules and regulations may result in the loss of library privileges. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a positive and supportive environment for all library users. Library ID or University Credentials:

Present your valid library ID or university credentials upon entering the library. These are required for borrowing materials and accessing certain services.

Silence and Noise Control

Maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere throughout the library. Keep conversations to a minimum, and use designated quiet zones for individual study and research.

Food and Drinks

Limited consumption of light snacks and drinks is permitted in designated areas only. Please keep these areas clean and dispose of trash properly.

Mobile Phones and Devices

Set your mobile phones and electronic devices to silent mode or vibrate while inside the library. Take or make calls outside the library to avoid disturbing others.

Personal Belongings

Do not leave personal belongings unattended. “The library is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.”

Respect for Library Materials

Treat library materials with care. Do not write, underline, highlight, or otherwise damage books, journals, or any other resources.

Borrowing and Returning Materials

Follow the borrowing rules and return materials on or before the due date to avoid overdue fines. Renewals can be made online or at the circulation desk if there are no holds on the items.

Overdue Fines and Fees

Be aware of the library’s overdue fines and fee policies. Fines accumulate for late returns, and failure to clear fines may result in the suspension of borrowing privileges.

Disruptive Behaviour

Engaging in disruptive or disrespectful behaviour towards library staff or other users is not acceptable and may result in disciplinary action.
