Associate Proffessor Rosemary Nakijoba became the first home grown Professor after the University Council ratified her promotion to Associate Professorship.

The promotion followed the scrutiny of her journal publications and book chapters for originality and fulfillment of other criteria for promotion to the Academic rank as stipulated in the MRU HR Manual, Management Committee as well as The Senate.

Associate Proffessor Nakijoba was assessed by Professors from the University of Western Cape in South Africa and from Makerere University here in Uganda.

She is widely published on Gender Relations, Child Labor, Challenges faced by people with Disabilities and the Impacts of COVID-19 and School Closures.

The University is  very proud to have Associate Professor Rosemary Nakijoba as the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
