The roles of the Finance, Planning and Development Committee

i. To monitor the strategic planning for and assessment of the university’s financial position, including it controlled entities.
ii. Evaluate and make recommendations for Council approval, of borrowings by the university.
iii. Consider and recommend for Council approval, the annual budget
iv. Review and monitor financial performance indicators
v. Monitor guidelines for the financial budgeting process and review any variations to the budget on a semester basis.
vi. Review the funding level of the Capital asset management plan and make recommendations to Council
vii. Review fees and charges for award bearing Courses imposed by the university and recommending the same to Council,
viii. Monitor the allocation and control of funds
ix. Monitor financial performance of the university-controlled entities.
