DIPLOMA IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be admitted for the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering of MRU, a candidate must satisfy the general minimum entrance requirements of the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) and Muteesa 1 Royal University (MRU). This will be through two avenues which are:  Direct entry and Diploma entry.

DIRECT ENTRY

Candidates seeking admission through the direct entry avenue must have obtained:

  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or it's equivalent.
  • At least five passes at the same sitting in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or at O-Level. The passed subjects should include mathematics and physics.
  • At least two Principal passes were obtained at the same sitting in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) including mathematics and physics.
  • Eligibility to enroll for Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering shall be computed points using the weighted index as shown in the table below; the advanced level subjects shall be grouped and weighted as shown in the table below
