UNIVERSITY FINALLY ACQUIRES A CHARTER

The University has eventually acquired the long awaited University charter Document. A Charter is the highest licence from the Higher Educational Institutions Regulator the National Council for Higher Education can award and its only granted and signed by no other person but the President of Uganda.

A Charter according to the Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act is testament that a University meets the Highest Academic standards and according to Section 103(a) of that very Act, it also means the University is comparable to a Public University.

The Next stage is to have the charter to officially be published in The Uganda Gazette as a Legal Notice according to Prof. Mary J. N. Okwakol the Executive Director of The National Council for Higher Education.

2024 ANNUAL INTER-FACULTY GAMES

The annual Inter-Faculty games are ongoing at Kirumba Main Campus in Masaka. Students and Staff from our City Campus at Kakeeka get to all flock down to Kirumba for the weekend games and to also have a feel of Kirumba Hill from which one can get to see the many other Hills that Masaka City is made of.

The games also involve bull roasting and lots of other fun.

BOOK DONATION

The University was very privileged to receive a consignment of over 200 books from Book Aid International. The books received are now an addition to the 21,634 Hard Copy Books in our Kirumba and Kakeeka Library shelves. The donation was made possible by the assistance of Prof. Maria Musoke a University Governing Council Member.

The University Community is also proud to have an E-Resource books, journals and magazines archive that is in millions of units.

Isn’t it said after all that a University is just a group of buildings gathered around a library. A University is no more than its library.

One of our own Joseph Kibuuka who also was once Guild President of our Kakeeka-Mengo Campus was picked as best Employee of the Month at Centenary Bank Kabalagala Branch.
Kibuuka graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree.
