The roles of this committee are:
i. To consider and approve the university’s Human Resources strategy for ratification by the Council.
ii. To ensure a long-term human resource planning strategy developed and adhered to by the university
iii. To monitor, through regular reports from executive officers, the effectiveness of the personnel policies and procedures.
iv. Periodically review senior administration succession plan.
v. To monitor and advise the council on matters relating to health, safety and the environment. Monitor trends in human resource
policies, salaries, and benefits within the university sector and ensure that the university stays competitive with respect to
recruitment and retention of employees.
vi. Review and approve plans for recruitment and changes in overall staffing levels of the university.
vii. Monitor the propriety of the appointment process for all university positions.
viii. Setting and recommending to the Council, the annual performance targets of the Vice Chancellor and reviewing the attainment
of those targets.
